Out of the box, without any command-line arguments, the curl command will fetch a file and display its contents to the standard output.

It is helpful if you're not getting all of the files. It's a shortcut for -N -r -l inf --no-remove-listing which means: -N : don't re-retrieve files unless newer than local -r : specify recursive download -l inf : maximum recursion depth inf or 0 for infinite --no-remove-listing : don't remove '.
